Thicket Priory ‘…a few things you need to know’

FAQ’s
As guests of the couple, they are inviting you into their ‘home’ for the weekend, rather than a hotel.
That said there are a few questions you may have so we thought it best to provide a little pre-arrival information for you to browse.

Car Parking
There is ample car parking on site for everyone, often with a request from couples to keep the front of the building clear of car for photographs.

Taxis
If you are going to need a taxi, we strongly recommend you book well in advance as we are not in the city centre and York has a busy social calendar on the weekends.
…uber is very rarely an option here!

Electric Charging Points
The nearest ones are shown on this map here.

Can I bring my own Alcohol?
No, the venue has its own ‘Gryffin’ Bar, which is well stocked and reasonably priced, our team will be waiting to serve you with your favour tipple! Espresso Martini anyone?

Amenities
There is Shampoo, Conditioner, Shower Gel & Soap. There is also a hair dryer and hot water bottle for those who may feel the cold in the winter.
Bath Sheets, Hand Towels, and Face Cloths are also in every bedroom.

Ironing & Sewing
We have a beautifully appointed room in the house for ironing and also anyone who may need to fix a minor wardrobe malfunction. Every coloured thread, and needles can be found in this quaint room that is a firm favourite with our visitors!

Can I Drink the Water?
Yes, Thicket Priory has filtered spring water throughout the building so all water is drinking water.

The Pantries
Our famous pantries are scattered throughout the building for you to access tea, coffee, hot chocolate, fruit teas and of course a chocolate biscuit.
Our favourite has got to be the Tunnocks Teacake!

No Smoking/Vaping
It goes without saying, there is no smoking/vaping in the building.

Children’s Beds and Cots
If you require an additional bed or cot in the room, please arrange this directly with the couple so they can make us aware prior to your arrival.

Wifi
There is Wifi throughout Thicket Priory. We do suggest turning on Wifi calling for better connectivity as the 4G/5G in the countryside isn’t the strongest.

Catering
All catering is taken care of by our chosen caterers who will take care of your meals throughout your stay. There isn’t a ‘restaurant’ or ‘café’ on-site.
